In loving memory of our dear Colin; Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, and Friend.
Gone but never forgotten, he will be in our hearts forever.
Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning’s hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die

So much is written about loss and grief
But no matter how rational we try to be, at the back of our minds is always that thought, loss will come to others not me.
So we show sympathy to others, and with them we grieve
Knowing that true Empathy is something that could never be achieved.
Yes! Loss of a loved one is personal, and the saying “who feels it knows it” is true. But so is the saying “Today for my tomorrow for you.”
Of all the sayings expressed “under the sun.”
There is one I just do not agree with, and that is “His or her tine had come.”
Goodbye for any reason is hard to accept.
Colin is our Younger brother, the handsome one with the irresistible, contagious smile
Beyond that charisma was a no nonsense person, who dotted every “i” and crossed every “t”
So meticulous was he, a perfect example for all to see.
As expressed so many times, our brother was kind, helpful and shared his knowledge unselfishly.
His love extended beyond his wife our Sister Glenda, children, grandchildren, extended family and Communities around around him.
His love for his beloved country Guyana is beyond compare
Our brother went to Guyana 2010 to set up and work on the Guyana’s Law Revision/ Review, a work he was never recognized for.
His name is nowhere on that Review/Revision, so badly was he treated.
Yet during the Appeal of the 2020 Elections by the Coalition, we called on our younger brother for Legal advice and he UNCONDITIONALLY forwarded continuously Legal Briefings. So much so that when we often checked the time they were sent, our brother was working on them into the “Wee Hours” of morning
No Greater Love! No Greater Love! No Gteated Love!
To our Sister Glenda, we are hugging you whispering in your ear to be strong, while our tears are flowing uncontrollably.
Condolences to you and rest of the family.
As his Ka is placed to rest today, may his Ba continue unhindered on the journey to the Judgement Scene where his Heart be weighed on the Scale of Maat and be found to be as light as a Feather, allowing him entry into the Realm of the Ancestors

I am so sorry not to have found the details of Colin’s funeral in time to attend this morning. Colin and I worked together for many years at the Inns of Court School of Law (and latterly, the City Law School) and he was a great colleague and friend. As others have commented, Colin was a passionate researcher and writer, often shedding light on under explored topics in his work. At ICSL, I will remember Colin particularly for his energy and enthusiasm on the LLM Sentencing module that he helped to develop and delivered for many years. Colin was serious about his work but taught his classes in a way that really helped to bring out the best in his students. I think that he was able to fill them with confidence in their own abilities so that they could produce their best work and that is a special gift to have as a teacher. My memories of Colin are of a dear colleague who was always ready with a laugh and a smile but who was very serious about his work. I will also always remember the few occasions that I was persuaded to turn out as part of a law school cricket team which of course included Colin as a driving force; they were good and happy times. He had a great spirit and my deepest condolences go to Glenda, Dominic, Martin and the whole family on your loss. Colin, my friend, you have left us too soon and the world is a poorer place for your passing. RIP.
Words fail me. My brother you did it your way and now we have your precious memories to cherish. Thanks for always being a brother with an enormous heart.
Hugs and prayers to Glenda, Dominic and Martin. We will continue to pray with and for you.
RIP my brother. You will be sorely missed.✝️✝️

Colin Bobb-Semple was a former colleague of mine at ICSL. He was one of the most popular tutors at the School, loved by students and colleagues alike. Warm, funny and super intelligent, teaching was just one of Colin’s talents. Everyone here at what is now City Law School were deeply saddened to hear of Colin’s passing. I would like to share the University obituary for him, in case his friends did not get the chance to see it. Goodbye, Colin. Rest in peace. https://www.city.ac.uk/news-and-events/news/2022/05/obituary-colin-bobb-semple

2022 Goodbye Colin
My sincere sympathy to family and relatives of Colin. He was a wonderful person that I met during his stint in Guyana on the Law reforms. May his beautiful soul rest in eternal peace.
Colin taught me at Bar school and has remained a true friend ever since. I remember when he attended my celebratory party after I was called to the Bar and how my mother and other siblings were enamoured of him. Not long before he passed away we communicated on LinkedIn and we planned to meet up to discuss his new book – that clearly was not meant to be. Rest in peace Colin, you will be sadly missed, and may light perpetual shine on you.
Working with you over the years Colin brings only fond memories…I was looking forward to working with you on your amazing new books but alas it was not meant to be. Farewell and may your rest be eternal…

Those who write their stories in the hearts of men, configure their lives to dwell in perpetuity. Such a writer was Colin, the ancestral Kofi, the Hammurabi of Guyana, a traveller who sought to understand the esoteric mysteries within the miseries of the human condition. Such men do not die, they transition into a higher dimension of life to live yet again
So sorry to hear the sad news. May Colin’s soul rest in peace. Our prayers and thoughts are with the family, may God give you all strength to bear this sad loss.
