David was born in York, the youngest of three children. His father was a consultant psychiatrist and David followed in his medical footsteps, qualifying from the London Hospital, Whitechapel, in 1964. He pursued a career in General Practice in Windsor, marrying Kate and becoming the father of 4 children – Nick, Tim, Richard (Bill) and the late and sadly missed Jane. In 1987 David became a medico legal adviser at the Medical Defence Union where he spent 12 years assisting doctors with a variety of medico legal issues. He married Cathie James in 1995. Following his retirement he pursued a variety of interests in the community and in particular at St Michael and All Angels Church, Bedford Park, where amongst his many roles, he was churchwarden, photographer, altar server, and responsible for a major centenary project researching over 100 names from the church’s war memorials who had died in WW1

The origins of our street’s tree must remain a challenge. Thanks David you were always irrepressible
The Service was a wonderful Tribute for David.
As a family we have so much to thank David and Kate for, in helping us settle in Berkshire from Zimbabwe in 1979 . During the following years abroad we so appreciated their standing “in loco parentis” for our boys who were at boarding school. David’s knowledge of the local housing market and his contacts in the local building trade were invaluable in helping us get on the housing ladder. David was always extremely hospitable, kind and friendly and we all have very fond memories of him.
