Graham much loved and always remembered
Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning’s hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die

Only today, (29th July 2024), did we learn that Graham had died.
I first met Graham in the 60s when we worked at Texaco together. We became good friends and I recall the evenings we spent, together with my wife, watching the wrestling matches at the Royal Albert Hall. Graham had somehow managed to arrange that we had private box, courtesy of the company. He spent many weekends with us and, after Mass the Sunday ritual was a visit to the local hostelry to check out the beer, Sunday lunch, followed by a quiet afternoon snooze. Graham was godfather to our two sons. In recent years we had not been in such close contact and I regret that the last time I spoke to him was shortly before his 90th birthday. We will remember him fondly for the pleasant times shared in his company, for his good humour and for being such a remarkable gentleman. God bless you, Graham. You will be remembered in our prayers.

Let your arms enfold us
Through the dark of night
Will your angels hold us
‘Til we see the light?
Hush
Lay down your troubled mind
The day has vanished and left us behind
And the wind whispering soft lullabies
Will soothe
So close your weary eyes
Let your arms enfold us
Through the dark of night
Will your angels hold us
‘Til we see the light?
Sleep
Angels will watch over you
And soon beautiful dreams will come true
Can you feel spirits embracing your soul?
So dream
While secrets of darkness unfold
Let your arms enfold us
Through the dark of night
Will your angels hold us
‘Til we see the light?
Let your arms enfold us
Through the dark of night
Will your angels hold us
‘Til we see the light?
Dear Cousin Graham you will always be in my memories of happy times spent together which will never die! When you see my dear Mother up with the Angels on high …please do not tell her about all the Officers and sailors from the US SS Missouri that we met at the Sheraton Hotel in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia during our visit many years ago! You always threatened that you would tell on me to my dear Mother! It was our little bit of fun shared together. What an afternoon we enjoyed lots of laughter as you fended off would be suitors! I will miss our chats, dining experiences, travels and the laughter. I will forever hear your dulcet tones stating “Alright on the left” as the front seat passenger in the car we drove along the highways and byways towards our destination! May your journey onwards from this life bring ever lasting peace! I will miss you dear Cousin!
