Luigi and I were so sorry to hear of Joe’s death. He was such a kind and supportive colleague and friend with a great sense of humour. Rest in peace Joe!
Joe was a great colleague, and friend. He was a true professional in every way. I learned so much from working in Gumley at the same time as him. He was outstanding as a deputy head and always totally supportive. Joe always had the the best interests of all those who were part of the Gumley ‘extended family’ at heart. Joe had a great sense of humour and could make every day a good day. He will always be in my heart and prayers.
My prayers are with you all through this terrible time. May Joe RIP
A wonderful colleague who was very supportive of my early years at Gumley. He had a great sense of humour and always up for a challenge stepping in and teaching PE he had a real talent for loosing tennis and table tennis balls! Such a great sense of humour, happy memories.
Very sorry to hear of Joe’s passing, condolences to the McCarthy family.

Wonderful man. Always had a fun persona and mischevious glint in his eye, even when attempting to teach me maths!
The best friend anyone could wish for.
