Marie John was born in Ravineau, St Lucia on 25th May 1936 and the loving daughter to Johnny & Augustin John.
Being the third eldest of nine siblings and the oldest girl, when her mother fell ill it was Marie’s wish to look after her ailing mother which is a role she cherished and did with as much love and affection a daughter could provide to a mother. As well as looking after her mother Marie took pride in helping to bring up the brothers and sisters that came after her.
She married Moses Pierre in 1968 and came to England that same year.
In the same year, Marie went to work in University College as a domestic assistant and stayed there until her retirement in 1997.
Her beloved children Kenny and Cressy were born and she had one granddaughter Myia who she loved to pieces!!
After retiring it was Marie and Moses’ dream to go back to St Lucia to see out their later years which they did. Moses passed away in 2009 and since then Marie came back to England and settled in Walthamstow, London until her passing in February 2022.
Marie’s life was devoted to her family and friends who loved her devotion to them and kind words whenever the situation needed a thoughtful gesture and her many “Pearls of Wisdom”.
May you RIP Marie. Devoted, daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.

My beloved mum,
Words cannot fully Express the love, appreciation and gratitude I have for you. You were a force that drove us to believe that with hard work and good standards anything was possible. Your giving and love for others, whether it be in word or deed, was evident right until the end. And the love you gave us and absolutely showered Myia with will never be forgotten. I thank you mum for everything you ever did for us.
May you rest and sleep soundly until we see each other again very soon; Revelation 21:4
“..until death will be no more”

Aunty Esther was a very inspirational woman. She was a force of nature and her accomplishments are many that made Cressy and myself wonder how we were bracing womanhood. She Always made me feel so welcome. Cressy and I met at Secondary School but unbeknownst to us my Mother before she passed had worked with Aunty Esther and gave her a softness in her heart for myself and the children. ‘Not too good, not too bad’ she would often say of late.
May Jehovah call you to the sound of Trumpets and Jubilation on Judgment day as a fixture in his Everlasting Kingdom Aunty. You shall Not be forgotten, In JESUS’ Name we Pray, Amen
Kenny and Cressy, its so hard to fine the right words at this time, for nothing said will give you the comfort that you seek. Miss Ester was an amazing woman, a fellow Ravineau girl like my Mum. Full of kindness and love for her family. Her kindness touched many. Mum and Dad always spoke fondly of her. I pray that God gives you all strength to get through today. Love always. Julia
May you rest in peace mum and thank you for all you taught me. Your life was dedicated to your family and they will forever be in your debt.
