Memories

  1. Thanks you for streaming the funeral. RIP Mrs Moore and thank you for all you did for Acton at St Vincents and Our Lady of Lourdes. Sincere condolences to Anne and Geraldine on the loss of your lovely mum. She did so much for so many and we will miss her. God bless.

  2. Very fond memories as a good friend of Anne’s, frequently visiting 158 Avenue Road from the age of 11.

Lovely lady, mischievous sense of humour, beautiful smile, great cook and always so welcoming to us all. Sadly missed.

  3. Thank you, Anne and Geraldine, for live streaming your lovely mum’s funeral. Thank you, Fr Chris, for reminding us so clearly of how much Mary meant to all of us. I went to St Vincent’s as a newly qualified teacher and she took me under her wing and made sure I settled in happily to school life. She played such a special part in the ‘St Vincent’s family’. Mary was a wonderful nurse/mother figure to the poorly children, several of whom were extremely unwell. They knew how much she cared, and would look after them. She took them to her heart, and they took her to theirs. I left and came back to St Vincent’s some years later, as the deputy head. Mary still saw me as an NQT, kept me firmly in my place! And, yes, I confess to being the stock room pilferer, caught red handed! In my later schools I often wished I had Mary to guard the stock cupboards, especially when they were empty by the second week of term. I often wished I had Mary to look after the vulnerable children. She was worth her weight in gold, she could turn her hand to anything. A truly faithful woman, as Fr chris said today. May she rest in peace.

  4. For and on behalf of the priests and people of the parish down through the years, I offer our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Mary Moore R.I.P. I know how missed she will be in Our Lady of Lourdes Acton High Street.

  5. Mary I’ve known you since I was 11 years old going to school with you’re daughter Gerri and Anne at Gumley House. You were always a loving , welcoming lady to me over the years. You will be missed very much. God bless you.
