  9. Dear Cathy, Joseph and extended family. Just a note to say how sorry I am to hear this very sad news. We truly can’t believe it. My first meeting with Neil was at Ashton’s nightclub where Cathy pointed out this young 17 year old guy who became her partner in life. They really grew up together and had so many friends and good times. They were a big part of the Irish community. As hard of a day it will be, I will think of you from so far away and pray you have strength going forward. We are all here for you through good and bad. You are always welcome in Texas and it’s not long till I will see you again. Our thoughts will be with you tomorrow. You are surrounded by love and support.

  19. Neil found out that he and l where distant cousins so when we met up he used to greet me with “Hi Cuz! He found this out when he met a relative of mine at a funeral who was from Ballinasloe
    they got talking and we realised that we where related.
    Always such a great craic,

  26. Nellie, I miss your WhatsApp messages even last night I go to send you one, “Off to buy the papers” etc etc. You made me laugh from my earliest school memories at OLOG, playing football, to walking into Charlie’s, Sal’s the Ox , Sorely missed forever.

  27. Neil was my godfather and the reason I am a life long Manchester United supporter. He took me to a few of games when I was a boy and bought me more than a few kits for my birthdays growing up. RIP Uncle Neil ❤️

  28. Neil was an absolute gentleman that always brought the best out in people , absolutely loved the Craic , we had some great times especially in Sals and Whelans on Cheltenham week .

  33. Still doesn’t seem real, you been in my life all my life, always smiling and laughing. 

    From riding our Grandads bike or riding on Pats coal cart in Ballinasloe as toddlers, junior school, secondary school, summer holidays at home in Ireland , football trips , nights out too many to count, every family occasion and your daily WhatsApp’s.

    ‘I’m going to miss you’ doesn’t cover the hole left in my life with you gone.

Please note, due to COVID19 "safe distancing" restrictions, places for the Requiem Mass at St George's Church are limited so seating cannot be assured. However, Neil's funeral will be streamed live from this Memorial Site on Monday 17th May at 11.00AM. Simply click on the invitation which will be posted above, 48 hours prior to the scheduled start of the service.

Many of Neil's friends and relatives have kindly offered to pay tribute with flowers, however, Cathy and Mary have suggested that people could, instead, donate to Neils 'Giving' page for CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young).
